Norma Alice Nickens


Norma Alice Nickens, 83, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1:52 P.M., Sunday, June 1, 2003 at her residence.
Norma was a homemaker.  She had also worked at Pinckneyville Garment Company and as a babysitter.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tamaroa, member of WMU at the church, Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher.
She was born February 24, 1920 at Tamaroa, IL, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Bauer) Corgan.
She married Marion N. Nickens on November 14, 1943 at Tamaroa, IL and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter - Carole Moody of Pinckneyville, IL, one son - Fred A. Nickens of Du Quoin, IL, two sisters - Berl Lynch and Anna Belle Moore, both of Tamaroa, IL, one sister-in-law - Hazel Corgan of Tamaroa, IL, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at First Baptist Church of Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 9 to 10 A.M., Wednesday at the church.
Interment was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church of Tamaroa.
